Our counselling agreement, in plain words
Before your first session, it helps to know how we will work together. Here are the key points, and the full contract to read or keep.
Last updated: October 2026Counselling works best when you feel safe and clear about what to expect. This agreement sets out how sessions, fees, confidentiality and endings work, so there are no surprises along the way.
The key points
Your sessions
Sessions usually last 50 to 60 minutes, weekly or fortnightly. They take place online via Zoom. In-person sessions in Rainham are available by arrangement.
Fees
A 60-minute counselling session is £80. Your first session is paid online when you book.
Cancelling or changing your first session
Cancel more than 48 hours before and you receive a full refund. With less than 48 hours' notice, the fee is not refunded, but you can rebook your session.

Confidentiality
What you share stays confidential. There are a few legal and safety exceptions, such as a serious risk of harm, which the full contract explains clearly.
Professional standards
Funmilola Sonubi is a BACP Registered Accredited counsellor and a member of ACC, and works within both organisations' ethical frameworks, with regular supervision.
Ending counselling
You can end counselling at any time, and you never have to give a reason. Where possible, a final session helps us close our work well.

Tick to agree when you book
When you book your first session online, you will be asked to confirm that you have read and agree to it.
Talk it through together
At your first session, there is time to go over the agreement and answer any questions you may have.
