Meet Funmilola Sonubi

  • BACP Registered Accredited
  • Member of ACC
  • Integrative therapist
  • Author

Before becoming a psychotherapist, Funmilola spent more than 30 years as a biomedical scientist in the NHS. That background shapes how she works: curious about the roots of what you feel, not just the symptoms.

She works in an integrative way, drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural approaches, and shaping each session around you. If you would like your Christian faith to be part of your counselling, she can include it. If not, that is fully respected.

She is also the author of The 3 Must-Do's in Life and the creator of the 3 Pathways to Inner Peace.

  3. Continue at your pace

Sessions are usually weekly or fortnightly. You review progress together after six sessions, and you can stop at any time.

I can't believe how easy it is to access support this way. It was so convenient to engage with the sessions on my own schedule, yet I still felt guided and supported throughout.

Common questions about counselling

How much does counselling cost?

A 60-minute counselling session costs £80. Your first 15-minute call is free, and your first session is booked and paid online.

Is counselling online or in person?

Sessions take place online on Zoom, so you can join from anywhere in the UK. In-person sessions in Rainham are available by arrangement.

What happens in the free 15-minute call?

It is a relaxed, no-obligation conversation. You can share a little about what is going on, ask questions, and see whether working together feels right.

Do you offer Christian counselling?

Yes, if you would like it. Funmilola is a member of the Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC) and can include Christian perspectives when you ask. If you would prefer not to bring faith in, that is fully respected.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes. What you share stays confidential. There are a few legal and safety exceptions, such as a serious risk of harm, and these are explained to you before you begin.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone is different. Sessions are usually weekly or fortnightly, and you review your progress together after six sessions. You can stop at any time.

What if I need urgent help?

Help Ariseth is not a crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999. For urgent support, call NHS 111 or Samaritans free on 116 123, any time.

You don't have to carry this alone

When you feel ready, take one gentle step. A free 15-minute call is a good place to start.
