Last updated: 1 October 2026

At a glance

  • Your first contact is a free 15-minute call.
  • Paid sessions are paid in advance. Cancel or move with 48 hours' notice at no charge.
  • Digital programmes start straight away and are not refundable once access begins.
  • We are not an emergency service. In a crisis, call 999 or Samaritans on 116 123.

1.About these terms

These terms explain how our website and services work, and what we each agree to when you use them. We have written them in plain language. By using our website, booking a session or buying a programme, you agree to these terms.

These terms do not affect your legal rights as a consumer.

2.Who we are

Help Ariseth (Counselling & Psychotherapy Services) is a counselling practice based in the United Kingdom. It is run by Sakirat Funmilola Sonubi, an MBACP-accredited counsellor and psychotherapist, as a sole trader. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Help Ariseth.

You can contact us at admin@helpariseth.com.

3.Our services

  • Counselling: individual, couples, pre-marital, family, trauma and grief support, and spiritual guidance.
  • Clinical supervision for counsellors and therapists.
  • Digital programmes and memberships, including pre-recorded courses, live group sessions and the Inner Peace Academy.
  • Retreats, online and in person.
  • Free resources, including a free 15-minute introductory call, free courses, guides, podcast episodes and blog articles.

Most sessions take place online by video. Details of each service, including its price, are shown on our website and when you book.

4.Who can use our services

  • Our website, online programmes, memberships and retreats are for adults aged 18 and over.
  • We sometimes provide counselling to people under 18, for example in family counselling. This only happens with the consent of a parent or guardian.
  • How we look after the information of young people is explained in our Privacy Policy.

5.Not an emergency service

Help Ariseth is not an emergency or crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999. For urgent medical advice, call NHS 111. To talk to someone any time, day or night, call Samaritans on 116 123.

Counselling is not a replacement for medical or psychiatric diagnosis or treatment. Please keep your GP informed about your health where appropriate.

6.Booking and payment

  • Sessions are booked through our online booking system.
  • Paid sessions must be paid for in advance when you book. Card payments are processed securely by Stripe.
  • Prices are shown in pounds sterling (£) on our website and when you book or check out.
  • Sessions start and finish at the booked time. If you join late, the session will still end on time.

8.Digital programmes and memberships

Access

  • Each programme gives you access for the period stated when you buy it, for example 30 days, 12 weeks or 12 months.
  • One-off payments do not renew automatically. When your access period ends, your access stops unless you choose to buy again.
  • If you choose an instalment plan, the remaining payments are taken on the dates shown at checkout. If a payment fails, we may pause your access until it is paid.
  • The free 7-day trial ends automatically. You will not be charged unless you choose to buy a programme.

Your right to cancel and refunds

Under UK law, you normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. Our digital programmes give you access straight away. At checkout, you will be asked to agree that your access starts immediately and that, once it starts, you lose your right to cancel. For this reason, we do not offer refunds on digital programmes once access has begun.

If something you bought from us is faulty or not as described, you still have your full legal rights. Please contact us and we will put it right.

Retreats

The dates, what is included and the cancellation terms for each retreat are confirmed in writing when you book.

9.Your account

  • Please give accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your login details private. Your account is for your personal use only and must not be shared.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

10.Group sessions and community

Group sessions and community spaces work best when everyone feels safe.

  • Keep what other people share private. Do not record, screenshot or repeat it outside the group.
  • Treat others with kindness and respect.
  • We may remove anyone whose behaviour puts the safety or wellbeing of the group at risk.

11.Our content

  • All our content, including text, videos, courses, worksheets and images, belongs to Help Ariseth. You may use it for your own personal growth, but you must not copy, share, sell or publish it without our written permission.
  • Our free resources, blog and podcast offer general information and encouragement. They are not personal advice or therapy.
  • We may remove comments or reviews that are abusive, misleading or inappropriate.

12.Our responsibility to you

  • We provide our services with reasonable care and skill, in line with the BACP Ethical Framework.
  • We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for problems caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as internet or platform failures.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

13.Your privacy

What you share with us is treated with care and confidentiality. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information, including the limits of confidentiality. Our Cookie Policy explains how our website uses cookies.

14.Concerns and complaints

If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please tell us at admin@helpariseth.com. We will listen and try to put things right.

If we cannot resolve your concern, you can contact the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the professional body Funmilola is accredited by.

15.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. The terms in place when you book or buy something apply to that booking or purchase.

16.Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
